WHY DIGITAL?
• By 2018, digital advertising is projected to have the highest CAGR of 27.7%,
while all other sub-sectors are expected to grow at a CAGR between 9% and
18%
• 214 Million internet users, of which 130 Million are mobile internet users
• Digital commerce market grew by 33% to Rs.62,967cr last year as against
Rs.47,349cr (in 2012)
• At present, there are over 2.5crore online buyers and more than 21.3crore
internet users in India, according to the Association.
• India's e-commerce business jumped by more than 80 percent in 2013 and the
momentum is likely to continue for at least the next six years. India is expected
to reach around $50-70 billion by 2020
• Over half a billion Indians will switch to smartphones in the next five years.
That's going to be a big driver of e-commerce in India
• 12% Indian population is into online transactions and the trend is growing
